Q: Why don't the individual game predictions match with the predicted end of season standings?
A: We get this one so often we gave it
it's own page with the explanation.
Q: When you say a team has clinched a playoff spot what does it mean?
A: At playoffticker.com we work off of statistical models so when we state that a team has statistically clinched a playoff spot it is
virtually guaranteed to be in the playoffs regardless of the outcome of the rest of their games or other games in the league. It
may not be completely impossible that this team misses the playoffs, but it is statistically so unlikely an
occurance that playoffticker.com will call them clinched.
Q: When you say a team has been eliminated from the playoffs what does it mean?
A: At playoffticker.com we work off of statistical models so when we state that a team has been
statistically eliminated that team has virtually no chance to be in the playoffs this season
regardless of how many remaining games they win and regardless of the outcome of other games
in the league. It may not be completely impossible that this team makes the playoffs, but it
is statistically so unlikely an occurance that playoffticker.com will call them eliminated.
